Rancho Santa Fe
The Community of Rancho Santa Fe is located four miles inland from the Pacific Ocean in northern San Diego County, twenty miles north of Downtown San Diego. It lies east of the City of Solana Beach, between the San Dieguito River and Escondido Creek. The Covenant and its neighboring San Dieguito River Valley environs are within the unincorporated areas governed by the County of San Diego.
The Community has been able to preserve so much of its rural ambiance and historic architectural character due to its unique system of governance and the steadfast commitment of Covenant residents. Under the authority of the Protective Covenant, the Rancho Santa Fe Association has successfully adapted to changing conditions while preserving the fundamental goals established in the 1920's, and will continue to maintain them for future generations.
